It’s worth getting your mitts sticky over this indulgent dream of a cake. Chocolate lovers will melt at just the sight of it. Naughty yes… But oh so nice…
Serves 8
3 eggs
220ml sugar
60ml oil
60ml cocoa
250ml Edmonds cake flour
10ml Edmonds baking powder
2 pinches salt
Condensed milk
Whipped cream
Syrup
250mL sugar
250mL water
30mL Instant Coffee
5mL vanilla extract
Mix cocoa with 125ml boiling water. Let it cool.
Beat eggs, sugar and oil. Pour in the cocoa and mix well.
In a bowl sift together flour, baking powder and salt
Add to cocoa mixture and mix.
Pour in Pyrex dish. (28 x 28)
Bake 20 minutes at 180C
Make the syrup – Bring the sugar, water and instant coffee to boil and remove from stove and add the vanilla.
Take fork and make wholes in cake.
Pour hot syrup over cake, very slowly. (Use a large spoon)
Let it cool.
Spread 2 tins of caramelized condense milk on top of chocolate cake, followed by whipped cream. Sprinkle with chocolate drips.
