Hello Rosie is a wholesome combination of crunchy nuts, sticky fruit and delicious chocolate made the old fashioned way. It’s the eighth in a line of delicious slices from Sean Armstrong’s Loaf Handcrafted Breads.
Hello Rosie is a favourite among Kiwi home bakers and Sean says he has stuck to the handcrafted mantra in creating the new slice.
“They say Hello Rosie was originally developed by home bakers who simply threw in all the compatible ingredients that were left in the pantry,” Sean says.
“However, we’ve focused on the wholesome ingredients in our food cupboard. Loaf’s Hello Rosie has a simple base of butter, condensed milk and chocolate with a bit of orange zest and wheat flour– it’s very yummy and just like mum used to make. See if you can fool her.”
Sean says the Loaf slices range are always the favourites from the bakery and he likes to keep the range fresh by bringing new varieties to shelf.
Sean is a former chef who set about creating high quality breads by chefs for chefs. From the start, Loaf’s catch-cry has been to listen to what customers wanted.
And it wasn’t only gourmet chefs who were crying out for high quality artisan breads. With home cooking enjoying a resurgence in New Zealand and world-wide, consumers were keen too.
As the business grew Loaf’s product range expanded too to include slices and sweet loaves.
“Loaf is all about wholesome food and real ingredients but above all, flavour,” Sean says. “All along we have strived to produce food for people who enjoy baking. These people just don’t have the inclination or the time to bake themselves.
“We don’t over-manufacture. We try to create a little bit of nostalgia, keeping our products as natural as possible. It literally is like mum used to bake because we have lots of inputs – from staff, from mums and grand-mums and from the general public – as to what consumers like.”
Loaf’s new Hello Rosie slices are already in-store at Nosh Food Markets and Farro Fresh and will soon be in New World supermarkets. Loaf slice range also extends to flavours of White Christmas, Boysenberry Louise, Cranberry and Pistachio, Explosive Ginger, Gooey Caramel, Rocky Road and Sticky Chocolate.
